Rob Walsh, CMP, DMCP
President and Owner
Rob Walsh is the owner and President of Summit Events. For over 17 years, Rob and his team have advised businesses, associations, and nonprofits on how to get the most out of their meeting and incentive programs in Park City and Salt Lake City, UT. A Midwest native, Rob began his career traveling the globe operating programs all over the world. In 2003, he turned in his passport for a ski pass and has called Utah home ever since.
Rob and his wife live in Park City, UT with their two young children and golden retriever Sam. As an active member of the meetings and event industry, Rob contributes much of his time and resources to organizations such as Park City Chamber, Visit Salt Lake, Recycle Utah, EATS and Mountain Trails Foundation.
What I Love About Utah: Winter, winter, winter. I love to ski.
Kristyn Hancock
Sales Manager
Kristyn, also known as “Syd” around the office, has worn many hats in the event planning world since she started as an Event Coordinator fresh out of University. After moving to Utah from Vancouver, British Columbia, she took on the role of Global Events Manager and planned events all over the world. From there, Kristyn went on to work as a Catering Sales Manager for Salt Lake City’s only 4 diamond hotel, and then entered the non-profit world and managed their events, communications and marketing. She has worked as an event contractor and Travel Director, which has taken her all over the Caribbean Sea and fed her love of travel. Kristyn loves getting to know people and helping them, which assists her in role with Summit Events in sales as well as managing day-to-day operations.
Outside of Summit Events, Kristyn loves biking, hiking and skiing with her 3 kids and husband. She also loves reading, cooking, and entertaining and she’ll choose those things over anything else if given the opportunity.
What I Love About Utah: Funeral potatoes and green jello! Also – that I can ski in the morning and mountain bike in the afternoon every spring.
Heidi Hugues, CMP
Senior Account and Program Manager
Heidi was born and raised in Oregon and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Oregon State University. (Go Beavers!) She lived and worked in the hospitality industry in Sun Valley, Idaho for many years before moving to Utah.
Heidi is an event veteran, managing Olympic hospitality programs, directing operations for professional cycling races, project managing non-profit events as well as corporate and association meetings and events. Heidi is a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP).
She started Summit Events DMC in 2002 and partnered with Rob Walsh for the last few years until turning over the reins 100% in 2019. Heidi is still an intricate part of the Summit Events team!
Julia Rametta
Director of Operations
Julia Rametta is the Director of Operations at Summit Events. She began working in the meeting and events industry with a focus on non-profit events and fundraising ten years ago.
After managing many successful fundraising events, she moved to independent event planning where she became more involved in corporate and social events. She thrives on meeting new people and enjoys the opportunity to work with a variety of companies and organizations. She specializes in creative décor and program organization.
Julia lives in Park City, UT with her husband, two young boys and dog. She is actively involved with the local National Ability Center and enjoys any activity that involves friends and a great view.
What I Love About Utah: That we get to experience all of the seasons every year.
Susan Worthington
Program Manager
Susan grew up in a small town in Montana along the Canadian border. She gave up small-town living and headed to Seattle for college. In 1991, she ended up in the great state of Utah where she has worked in the hospitality industry ever since. Starting as a trip director, Susan worked her way into a program manager role where she enjoys working with the clients to help finalize their details to create a memorable event.
Susan is a music lover and is actively involved with Mountain Town Music. On her off-time Susan can be found traveling the world with her two boys.
